Eco-friendly fleet

GRI:

For several years, we have been successively replacing the cars in the company fleet — currently, it includes both electric cars and several dozens of hybrid cars. Since 2020, we have been replacing diesel-engine cars with hybrids. By the end of 2021, we intend to achieve the target of at least 40% of hybrid cars in the total functional fleet.

The ecological aspect of the fleet is very important to us and, apart from the costs associated with the use of the fleet, it is a key element and factor for selecting new cars for T-Mobile’s fleet. We have been successively replacing diesel-engine cars with hybrid cars. So far, we have replaced over 150 cars from our fleet with hybrid-engine cars. Several dozen more models will be replaced in 2021.

Our goal for the end of 2021 is to increase the share of hybrid cars in the fleet to more than 40% and, thereby, reduce the number of diesel-engine cars.

At the end of next year, we want to abandon diesel-engine cars altogether in the entire functional fleet and, instead, opt for hybrid or low-emission petrol vehicles. We also plan to increase the share of vehicles with mild-hybrid technology. It is a combination of conventional diesel fuel system and a small electric drive with a battery. This combination makes it possible to reduce CO2 emissions at key engine operating moments, such as start-up or rapid acceleration of the vehicle. As a result of the recuperation of energy during braking, battery charging happens automatically. Mild-hybrid systems come with both petrol and diesel engines.

On the basis of cooperation with fuel suppliers and the available GPS information, we collect ecoscoring data to monitor fuel consumption on an ongoing basis, as well as to encourage users to become safer and more eco-friendly drivers. In 2021, we plan to introduce a comprehensive fleet management system.

Our employees are carpooling

At T-Mobile, employees can share car journeys to work thanks to BMW electric cars that have been made available. As vehicles have attracted much enthusiasm at the company, we plan to have more electric vehicles in the future. So far, in less than two and a half years’ time, each of our three electric cars travelled a distance of 40 to 45 thousand kilometres.
  • Reduced paper usage in fleet processes
  • Digitisation of fleet authorisations and certificates
  • Electronic mode of communication with officials related to managing traffic fines
  • In cooperation with our business partners (leasing companies), we have implemented a digital mode of circulation of insurance policies in the form of PDF distribution or access to insurance policies from the application level
  • We have replaced paper vehicle handover protocols with a digital protocol version on a tablet, with the DocuSign signature
  • 305-1
